Simona Sindreștean started her piano lessons when she was 5, and later, when she was 10, she started the oboe lessons. In 2008 she graduated from the National University of Music in Bucharest guided by Prof. Dr. Florenel Ionoaia, and in the same year, she received the „Erasmus scholarship” at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance Paris, in the class of Prof. David Walter.
In 2011 Simona graduated from her masterclass at the „F. Liszt” Weimar Academy of Music in the class of Prof. Matthias Backer. Then she took masterclasses with Francois Leleux, Dominik Wollenweber, Christian Wetzel, Klaus Lienbacher, Hansjorg Schellenberger. Simona has won numerous awards both in Romania and abroad, including the 1st prize at the National Olympiad in Brașov (2003), the jury prize at the Yamaha National Competition Bucharest (2006), the Grand Prix at the National Contest in Bucharest (2008), and 3rd prize at the Hochsculwettbewerb in Trossingen, Germany (2010).
Between 2010-2012 Simona obtained the position of oboe 2 with English horn in the Deutsches Symphonie- Orchester (the German Symphonic Orchestra), Berlin. In 2011 she was an academy member at the Komischeoper, Berlin. Since 2015 she has been employed as an oboe soloist with the Sonderjyllands Symfoniorkester, Denmark.
In 2018 she was hired as an oboe soloist by the Helsingborgs Symfoniorkester, Sweden. In the meantime, Simona works with Les Dissonances (Paris), Konzerthausorchester (Berlin), Aalborg Symfoniorkester and other chamber music ensembles, amongst which Kirin Winds and Mutatis Ensemble (Copenhagen).
